New Health & Wellbeing Centre for Birmingham’s LGBT community

A pioneering new centre designed to support the needs of Birmingham’s LGBT community is to open next month in the city’s Southside district.

The centre will provide a base for training activities and host a ‘one-stop-shop’ range of services, including support to target issues around anxiety and depression, which disproportionately impact upon the LGBT community. The Centre has received funding from the Big Lottery Fund and Birmingham City Council, as well as support from Southside Business Improvement District.

Birmingham LGBT, which has worked to develop the centre, receives support from the Barrow Cadbury Trust for its active citizenship programme, which provides training to support the city’s LGBT community in engaging with local representative bodies.
