Barrow Cadbury Trust Chief Executive takes up post

The new Chief Executive of the Barrow Cadbury Trust, Sara Llewellin, took up post on 2nd November 2009.
Ruth Cadbury, Chair of the Barrow Cadbury Trust, said: “We are delighted to welcome Sara as our new Chief Executive. Her commitment to social justice and her skills and experience will enable her to work with Trustees and lead the staff team to fulfill our mission of promoting social justice through grant making, research, influencing public policy and supporting local communities.”
Sara joins the Trust from the City Bridge Trust where she was Deputy Director for a number of years. As well as extensive experience in strategic grant making, she was Chair of London Funders (2005-2009) and has served on the Boards and Investment Committees of various relevant bodies: Community Fund (1998-2003); Awards for All (1999-2004); Futurebuilders England (2005-2008). Sara is currently a member of the Investment Committee for Charity Bank.
Before joining City Bridge Trust, Sara was Director of St Giles Trust, specialising in providing primary and community care to homeless people, having previously worked in the domestic violence movement running women's refuges.
Sara Llewellin said: "The Trust has a legendary reputation and I have long admired its work. It is a great privilege to be invited to take on this role and I am looking forward to it immensely.”
